The Assamese community in Delhi and the national capital region is observing me-dam-me-phi on Sunday seeking divine help from the ancestors to overcome all odds.
The day long celebration began with puja offerings to the Ahom forefathers with traditional Ahom rites in the capital.
The Assam Association in Delhi which organized the festival where many north eastern people who keep in the capital visited the festival venue and joined the solemn function.
Apart from puja, an open meeting was also organized which was attended by many eminent personality from the north east.
