Amid an unprecedented security and CCTV vigil, the High School Certificate examination and High Madrasa examination have begun across the state on Friday.
The Assam state secondary education board is holding the examinations from 9 in the morning with 3,80,665 HSLC and 10, 647 HM candidates at 855 centres across the state.
For the first time, the secondary education board is holding the examinations amid tight security deploying policemen to ensure normalcy. The authorities have clamped 144 CrPC in and around the centres.
CCTV cameras have been installed in many examination centres to prevent the candidates from resorting to unfair means. The examination is expected in May.
