Students burn Himanta's effigy

Students' unions protested and burnt effigy of education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against question papers of HSLC examination leak out today in Kokrajhar along with rest of the state.

Question papers of Assanese and Social Science examination today leaked out during the ongoing HSLC examinations across the state due to insincerity of SEBA and concern education minister.Several students organizations, which included AASU, BTC Minority Students Union, BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation staged protest and burnt effigy of Dr Sarma, Assam education minister for failing to conduct the ongoing HSLC examination in a healthy atmosphere across the state. The students unions slammed education minister for leaked out of question papers of Assamese and Social Science that are to be held after mathematics.

AASU burnt the effigy of Dr Sarma at Kokrajhar town near Rashmela fied in protest against question papers leak out today. Nabajyoti Roy, assistant general secretary of AASU said that education depart and it's minister has totally failed while providing healthy educational environment in the state. He has urged education department to make a healthy and suitable education environment to give quality education system. He slammed state government and education minister not to play only a lecture as well promises before performing departmental jobs in the state, Roy said.

At Salakati, the BTC Minority students union and Bengali Youth Students Federation also burnt effigy of Dr Sarma, education minister with banner, placards shouted slogans citing state government totally failure.

Lafikul Islam Ahmed, president of the students union termed Dr Sarma a failure minister in the state. He has demanded Dr Sarma should resign his ministership revealing his failure as education department meet fail to conduct the examination in free and fair. He said that state government is looking only lecture motive over education department of which why students in the state have to deprived from proper education, he added.
