Indefinite curfew in Silapothar
An orgy of untoward incidents has forced the authorities to clamp indefinite curfew in Silapothar where a section of protesters opposing the Assam Accord, 1985, attacked s local AASU office on Monday.
A group of miscreants keeps touching some houses in the area since the attack on the AASU office triggered huge protest. Army, police and para military forces have been patrolling on roads apprehending any outbreak of clash.
The miscreants have torched at least ten houses so far and not even a single night passes with such incidents in the area.
On the other hand, the Dhemaji police are still clueless on the whereabouts of Subodh Biswas who invited the attack on the AASU office. But police claimed to have arrested 30 so far including Soobodh’s close associates.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
