Death threat to Zubeen!

Zubeen Garg received death threat in social media when the most popular singer was performing in Dibrugarh on Friday.

A Facebook status warning that the singer would be shot dead from a point blank range went viral in the evening forcing the district authority to step up security in the function were the most popular singer was performing.

The threat was posted in the facebook by some Kai Khaplang alias Tultul Baglary who threatened to shot dead the dinger from.10 metre away from him..

He received the death threat hardly a week after he stepped down from a stage in Guwahati for disallowing to perform in Hindi.

GNRC to conduct press club’s health program

Steps to save Majuli

Dispur is finetuning a slew of measures to protect Majuli from the verge of collapse. These measures dominated a cabinet meeting which took place at Gorhmurh in the river island on Thursday morning. All cabinet ministers who were present in the meeting categorically stressed both long and short term measures to save the river island from flood and erosion.

The demand for Bharat Ratna to Dr Bhupen Hazarika has revived in Assam as the state observed the 90th birth day of the music maestro on Thursday. The All Assam Students Union (AASU) has demanded the country’s highest civilian award posthumously to the legendary musician who died a couple of years back. Talking to Assam Times in Guwahati, AASU leaders said that only the BBharat Ratna would be the real honour for Bhupen Da.  The demand is not new.
