Daimari lauds science college

Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary has lauded the Science College, Kokrajhar, which has raked 186th of top 200 educational institutions across the country. Daimary demanded direct funding pattern to BTAD administration to meet healthy development in the region.

The Science College,Kokrajhar,which is the only pure Science College in BTAD region, has been spotted in raking of top 200 educational institutions in the country that was assessed by National Institutional Ranking Framework(NIRF) under Ministry of Human Resource Development(HRD). The collge was founded in 1995 in Kokrajhar,which has a quite discipline with dedicating educational environment for students with few 17 students,now it has over 1000 i.e 1053 students in nine departments.The college is recognised by UGC under section 2f & 12B and government provincialised.Presently 35 teachers in different department are teaching in the teaching job. Union Minsiter for HRD Prakash Javadekar declared the list of Colleges which have spotted in top 200 on April 3 in New Delhi.

Daimary,Rajya Sabha MP,who is also chaiman of Science College governing body addressing the some section of media persons at the college complex on Wednesday told that it is an achievement of educational institution in the region as Science College has been spotted in 186 ranking in top 200 all over the country. A total 10 colleges of Assam have secured the ranking but from lower Assam only Science College of BTC area has secured the prestige with ranking 186 in top 200. He has extended thanked to the BTC administration and education department for extending infrastructure in the college.

‘It is a good sign of bringing quality educational development through carrying survey of colleges from HRD ministry across the country.The college’s spotted in top 200 rank has encouraged more to be dedication in educational services’, Daimary said.

On the direct funding matter,Daimary said that the BTC administration has been demanding direct funding from centre to pave way more development in the council. He said that the council was working for all round development in the region since inception. ‘If direct funding were flow from the centre to the council,the development will be seeing more in days to coming’,Daimary said.

He has urged centre to make early process for direct funding to the council so that human society as well infrastructures are could be gained with proper. The Science College,Kokrajhar holds its governing body meeting at college with Biswajit Daimary in the chair.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
