Hagrama’s concern over conviction of DHD leaders
BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary expressed concern over conviction of DHD leaders by NIA on Monday. He said that the government should rethink over the judgement while addressing BPF's CWC meet at in Kokrajhar to discuss on party affairs.
Mohilary expressed serious concern over NIA conviction of DHD leaders like Jowel Garlosa, Niranjan Hojai, Mohit Hojai who are going under NIA cases even though they had signed accord with government . He has urged the government to rethink over the conviction of DHD leaders in the NIA court.
‘As DHD leaders had signed accord with government, but today’s conviction judgement was a matter of concern. Government should have exempted them (DHD leaders) from the cases’, Mohilary said.
The BPF has decided to contest in the upcoming panchayat election with new strategies. BPF minority cell was formed with Allaudin Sheik (Mushalpur) as president and Sultan Alom (Kokrajhar) as secretary to run the party in smooth and discipline. Kokrajhar: Four persons, including a cadre of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) were arrested by security forces from different two places in Kokrajhar and Chirang district on Wednesday.

Kokrajhar,May 25: Kokrajhar police,RPF,ABSU apprehended three suspected human traffickers and rescued two minor girls from traffickers at Brahmaputra train at Kokrajhar rail station this evening.
The persons were tried to trafficked girls to Delhi keeping lobby of jobs.The rescued girls are from Biswanath Chariali and they boarded train at Rangia station.
Getting information about the trafficking, ABSU workers from Kokrajhar district unit committee of ABSU,Kokrajgar police and RPF carried out a search along the train and arrested the person and rescued the two minor girls.The rescued girls are under 15-16 year age group.

Three persons were killed and six others serious injuried due to lightning at various places in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
Nareswar Basumatary (55) Lakhan Basumatary (35) of Takumpur, Kachugaon dies when they were struck by lightning in the early morning of Saturday. Manik Basumatary (3) of the same family received serious injury at the same incident.

Kokrajhar: Kokrajhar police apprehended six Bangladeshis (declared foreigners) from Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.
Based on the court order, police apprehended the persons who have failed to show necessary document during the citizenship verification. At least two persons died and two others received serious injuries due to thunderstorm struck in lower Assam's Chirang and Barpeta districts on Sunday.
A 16 year old girl died and two others received serious injuries of a family at a remote village due to thunderstruck in Chirang district. A heavy thunderstorm and rain at around 4.30 in the afternoon which claimed a student of class X student of Bishdowa village, Panbari in Chirang district. The deceased was identified as Ajmina Kathun, daughter of Ajijul Haque. Two others of the same family received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to local hospital.
