Senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has thrashed thr BJP led NDA government at the Centre for banning sale and slaughtering of cattle under the law against the cruelty to the animal.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Saturday, Gogoi said the government can't pass any diktat on the traditional food habits since beef is common item of food for many communities in the north eastern region.

Replying on a question of the Cotton College, Gogoi said the heritage tag could have been saved even after upgrading the country’s premier seat of learning.
