Panic at Christ Jyoti School over bomb

On Tuesday,16 August at around 8.30 am, the Christ Jyoti School of Nagaon was shaken by a phone call that was received by the Father of the school. The phone call created a panic among the Teaching staffs, School authority and the Students community. According to information, the Father of the school received a phone call on the school's land line number where it was said that there was a bomb kept inside the school premises and soon it was going to blast.The Father soon informed the police about the call and the district administration as well.

The police reached the spot and shifted the school students to a secure place.But Police could not find out any bomb in the school campus. Police investigation is on to find out the caller.No one has been arrested till now.

I was present at time at school. Soon after the school assembly we were taken to back field. It was just a panic situation all around the field. We were more worried about our school than our lives. I hope CJS nvr ends. Long live CJS.

i still remember that day...i was worried...i loved the school...just prayed that nothing bad should happen..by the grace of the Almighty...we were lucky that the call was just a hoax

Caused by the mighty river Brahmaputra, erosion takes a serious turn at Bhuragaon revenue circle in Morigaon district during the last few weeks causing extensive damages to crop fields and human habitation. As many as 30 families have shifted themselves to safer places from the effected areas. More than 200 hectres of land bearing sugarcane and jute submerged into the Brahmaputra in last week. It may be mentioned that during the last few years as many as 55 revenue villages were completely submerged into the said river due to erosion and more than sixty thousand people were rendered homeless. Talasing Hasampur (65), a resident of village Komrakata, in Nagaon was killed by an elephant at around 9.30 on Friday night. According to forest officials, a heard of about 100 elephants entered the said village in search of food. On seeing the jumbos people raised a hue and cry to drive them away. Hasampur reportedly came of his house with a lamp in his hand and did not notice the elephant. The elephant immediately caught the man with its trunk and killed him on the spot. Later, forest officials and police personnel rushed to spot on receiving the information and brought the body to Hojai.

Members of the Kampur unit AASU and Asom Shena seized two quintal of ganja on October 16 morning from a train bound for Guwahati from Dimapur.
