Engineering student’ strike continues
The engineering students kept striking in Kokrajhar for thr third consecutive day in protest against Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU) and demanded affiliation from Guwahati University to gain healthy education in the state.
The engineering students staged their strike in front of the college at Chandrapara in Kokrajhar, demanded affiliation under GU and urge the ASTU to stop playing with future of the students.
Agitated students with banner, placards staged the strike and shouted slogans demanding early solution of demands of the students . The students slammed the education minister and state government for not taking any check to the problems face while after the curriculum tried to bring under ASTU in the state.
The students boycotted all kinds of classes in the college. The studentd said strike will be continued till achieved of solution.
Bishal Kaushik, student's union leader said that the students are on strike with boycotting classes in protest against government's decision, which has been trying to affiliate the engineering colleges under ASTU.
'The ASTU is not acceptable affiliator to give higher education. We demand the engineering colleges should be come under the affiliation of Guwahati University at any costs', he said.
'We will continue our strike against the education department until and unless solved our demands', said an agitated student.

Kokrajhar, May 2: A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening. Local sources informed that authorities, including the police, SDRF, and local residents, launched a search operation late Wednesday night.
