Altogether seven suspected militants were killed at an encounter with army and police at Bashbari area in Dhubri distirct of lower Assam on Friday wee hours. According to information, Army's Red Horn Division jawans and police on duty asked a group of seven suspected terrorists from Motorjhar to halt on the Fakiragram-Dhubri railway tracks at around 3 in the morning. But one of them tried to lob a grenade at army and police which exploded at his own hands.
Police and army tried to retaliate it with firing which left these suspected terrorists dead on the spot. These ultras have yet to be identified. Meanwhile, top ranked police and army officials have rushed to the spot.
Later police recovered 6 pistols, 3 grenades, 6 detonators, 2 gelatin sticks, 2 kilograms of explosive materials, besides Rs 4,100 Indian currencies and Rs 3,740 Bangla currencies.
