KOKRAJHAR:Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said only Shankardev's neo Vaishnavism can help the state and it's people progress with a rich cultural heritage.
In his speech at the Asom Satra Mahasabha Convention in Kokrajhar on Saturday, Sonowal said it has, beyond, doubt,been proved time and again the huge relevance of the neo Vaishnavism pioneered by the saint. This is the only way to unite the people of all castes, creeds and religions.
Same sentiment echoed in what BTAD chief Hagrama Mohilary said in his speech. He said the saint had played a tremendous role to boost the bond of unity among the various sections of the people in those days.
Vaishnavite monastery heads from Majuli, MP Biswajeet Daimary were prominent among those who were present in the open session.
