Barama football Club (FC), Baksa lifted the 3rd BTC-Army football league trophy defeating the Kokrajhar Blues by 1-0 in the final match held at KDSA stadium ground in Kokrajhar on Sunday.

For Barama FC, Pingkul Basumatary scored lone goal against Kokrajhar in 45 minutes of the first half which led the team to win the football league and lifted the championship trophy. The final match created strong sporting amusement among the spectators. 

Mithinga Narzary of Kokrajhar was adjusted as best player in the championship. 

Champion team was awarded a trophy and cash 2 lakh while runners up team awarded trophy and cash one lakh respectively. 

BTC executive members Doneswar Goyary and Brigadier Gagan Deep handed over the prizes in the prize distribution ceremony. 

Among others,BTC executive member Rajib Brahma,BTAD IGP Anurag Agarwal graced as guests on the occasion.

The football league was organized by BTC administration and Indian Army to create sporting environment among society in the state.

Indian army jawans have also presented a  Ghudkha performance on the occasion.

Commanding officer of Shik Light Infantry of Indian Army, MK Jain told that the football league was organized by BTC administration and Indian Army to create sporting environment among society in the state.The football league has been organizing every year to hunt sporting talents in the region.

3 held, Ganja recovered in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh. Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional.
