River well attracts visitors

KOKRAJHAR:  In a innovative well in the Sapkata River in Kokrajhar district where water flows from bottom to top attracts visitors. The well is located at Dhwrwmpur village near Athiabari under Serfanguri Police Station, nearly 60 Kms away from Kokrajhar district headquarters to the north.

According to villagers, a well was constructed by villagers of Dhwrwmpur and its adjoining areas in the Sapkata river in 1991 to produce drinking water.

The well is being a source of waters during the summer season which lasted for five months till September from May every year.

Lupin Hembrom and Matla Murmu, residents in Dhwrwmpur village said they have been seeing the beautiful scenario since last twenty years along the Sapkata river during the summer season.
