Nagaon: Police have arrested AIUDF MLA from Dhing Aminul Islam charging him with misleading the people in the time of COVID-19 outbreak.
A team of police men on Monday afternoon picked up the senior AIUDF MLA to the office of superintendent where he was grilled for nearly 2 hours.
According to police sources, Islam could be arrested as soon as they get green signal from the state assembly Speaker since he is a sitting MLA.
Islam was quizzed after he told one of his aacquintance that the isolation wards set up by the government are like the detention camps alleging a conspiracy to kill a section of the people. Now policemen are in the possession of all these materials to book him.
He further said a couple of days back that the government is targeting a particular community in the name of campaign against COVID-19.
