ONGC-Supported Multi-Specialty Hospital Inaugurated in Sivasagar

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri inaugurated the ONGC-supported Siu Ka Pha Multi Specialty Hospital in Sivasagar, Assam, on November 4, 2023. The hospital, built with a total investment of Rs 483.19 crore, is a state-of-the-art facility with 300 beds and a team of 70 specialized doctors. It will offer a comprehensive range of medical services, including Orthopaedics, Trauma, Paediatric & NICU, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, ENT, Skull base Surgery, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, and advanced diagnostics.

The hospital will be managed and operated by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratisthan (BAVP). It is expected to provide healthcare services to over one lakh patients annually and significantly enhance the healthcare capacity of not only Upper Assam but the entire Northeast India.

A general meeting of government pensoners of  Nazira sub division held recently at Nazira Bortola HS School.  In the meeting a 21-members-led Nazira District Pensoner Association was formed. Well known businessman of Nazira Pikam Singh Harlalka passed away at his own residance of Nazira at 2 AM on November 22. He was 88. He survived by his wife and 3 sons. MLA of Nazira Debobrat Saikia and different organisations of Nazira condoled in the death of Horlalka.
Due to the raising demand of different organisations of Sivasagar district, ONGC laid down the foundation stone of much awaited Rs.100 Crore super speciality hospital at Rajabari, Sivasagar on November 20. Protesting continious price hike and inflation, Sivasagar District unit of the All Tai Ahom Student Unoin (ATASU) on Tuesday burnt the effigy of Food & Civil Supplies Najrul Islam at Dhudar Ali, in front of Nazira Natiya Mandir. Moyur Borgohain, state general secretary of ATASU, Prasanta Borgohain and over 100s other ATASU activist were gathered and shouted slogans against the supply departments. Nazira regional unit of All Assam Student Union is protesting against poor quality reconstruction of Dhudar Ali. Rs.17 crore reconstruction work of the historic Dhudar ali is going on. AASU Nazira unit submitted a memorendum to the SDO (C) Nazira on Monday.
