64th Annual Conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Celebrates Language, Literature, and Culture in Dimakuchi

The 64th annual conference and literary festival of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha concluded on January 13 at Dwimu Nwgwr, Dimakuchi, in Udalguri district after a vibrant four-day celebration. Assam cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika attended as the chief guest, representing Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, while Pramod Boro, CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), inaugurated the event. The event attracted delegates from Assam, Nepal, Bangladesh, West Bengal, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, alongside representatives from various districts of Assam.

The session featured cultural demonstrations from multiple communities, including Bodo, Nepali, Adivasi, Koch Rajbongshi, Bhutanese, and Bangladesh, showcasing the region's diverse heritage. Minister Hazarika praised the Bodo Sahitya Sabha’s efforts in advancing Bodo language and education. CEM Pramod Boro highlighted the event’s role in promoting the Bodo language, literature, and culture, noting significant educational advancements within BTR since its formation in 2020.

Kokrajhar: Hundreds of students from different schools and colleges held a candle light vigil in front of the Bodoland University today in protest against the Dokmoka incident.  The students shouted slogans and demanded strict punishment to those involved in the lynching of two youths--Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath. The students also urged the government to take stern measures against the rumor mongers in the social media.   
Kokrajhar: Seven students who came out with flying colours in the last Higher Secondary High School Leaving Certificate examinations from Kanthalguri village in Kokrajhar were felicitated by the Kanthalguri Village Committee here on Sunday. Kokrajhar:  About twenty women entreprenurs were given away desktop publishing (DTP) system in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. BTC executive member Rajib Brahma handed over the DTP and some other materials among the beneficiaries in the presence huge attended gathering. The DTP  systems were given away from the SC development Corporation of the state government. Chairman of the Kokrajhar SC development board Sanjoy Majumder told that the beneficiaries are selected by development board to proivide computer based service and social upliftment in the area.
Kokrjajhar: An wild elephant reportdly found dead at Ultapani under Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district on Monday. A team of forest officials led by Ultapani Range Dhiren Basumatary rushed to the spot and recovered the body from area. Body of the elephant has been sent for postmortem. Reason of the elephant death was not known so far. 
Kokrajhar:  An woman died and four others injuried in a road mishap at Dotma Gwmwbili area in Kokrajhar district on Friday evening. Injuried were admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.  According to eye witness, the woman died and serveral others sustained serious injuries following head on collision with an auto tempo and a bike coming from opposite directions. The persons who received injuries were boarded on the auto tempo, were on the way for Tulsibill Aminkata after attending NRC hearing in Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar: An intellectual meet was organised at Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar in Tuesday in connection with the celebration of 26th foundation day of the Dularai Bathou Mahasabha. The day celebration began with two day programme, organised by Dularai Bathou Mahasabha and delegates from different districts across the state. Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary attended the meet.
