GUWAHATI: The Assam Government on Wednesday strikes a significant deal with the State Bank of India to grant home loans for its employees.
Speaking to Assam Times, official sources here say the agreement was signed at a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s office by finance secretary Santanu Mukherjee and SBI manager for the north eastern region Atanu Sen in full view of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
According to the pact, the SBI will grant loans to the Assam government employees for building new houses, buying flats, and renovation of old houses at a minimum rate.
