Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain Inaugrates SBI regional Branch in Nagaon


State Bank Of India,the countrys largest Bank has opened its Regional Business office ( RBO) Nagaon at U.R.Road, marwaripatty, Nagaon on 29th December, 2011. Shri Rakibul Hussain, Honb’le Minister, Forest, Panchayat, Environment & Rural Development, Govt, of Assam has formally inaugurated the office In presence of shri R.K.Garg, Chief General Manager , State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle, Shri Dipankar Purkayastha, Deputy General Manager ( Business & Operation ) , Zonal Administrative office, Guwahati, Dr. Durlav Chamua, Honb’le Local MLA of Nagaon and large gathering of public.


The principal objective of opening the Regional Business Office at Nagaon is to decentralize the control and administration to down the line & to come more close to the valued customer of the Bank. The RBO will be under the control of the Deputy General Manager, Zonal Administrative Office, Guwahati and looking into the affairs and administration of the SBI Branches of three districts Viz, Nagaon, Sonitpur & Karbianglong . The RBO will be the controller of 42 Branches of the three Districts.


In connection with the inauguration of the Regional Business Office a number of Community Services Banking Programmes are also being organized by the Bank on the occasion. The Chief General Manager , Shri R K Garg, has handed over the following donated items.


A) Three numbers of Aqua Guard Water Purifier including a water Tank for the use of the visitors to the Barduwa Than.


B) 2 Numbers of Inverters are being donated to the immates of the 14 rooms of the destitute resident of State Home , Nagaon.


C) The CGM has also announced that the maintenance of the fountain of circular Garden near circuit House and the statue of Motiram Bora and all statues and fountains in front of SBI Nagaon Branch has being undertaken by the bank for the good cause and benefits of the people of Nagaon.

One Powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recoverd on Saturday night in Raha. 4 persons were reportedly burnt alive in a head on collision between a Bus and a trailor on NH 37 , Bosapathar village in Kaziranga under Golaghat District at 4: 30 Am today. A day long 'Ride Safe' program was held at the Garu Field, in Nagaon. The program was flagged off by Mr Nityanad Pathak, in-charge of Nagaon Traffic police.
