Former Assam education minister Ripun Bora on Tuesday alleged a dirty political conspiracy against him a day after Delhi High court exonerated him in the nefarious bribery case CBI registered against him.
Talking to reporters in Guwahati on Tuesday, he said he was a victim of political conspiracy and that the truth would come out.
Notably, the Delhi high court has quashed a corruption case registered by the CBI against a former Assam minister Ripun Bora finding fault with the manner in which a trap was executed by the agency.
Justice G S Sistani quashed criminal proceedings against Bora who was chargesheeted by the probe agency in 2008 after a CBI team from Kolkata set up an elaborate trap to ensnare the then minister in a Delhi hotel without keeping the agency director in the loop.
The premier investigating agency lodged the case two weeks after the alleged incident. Bora, who was then a minister in the Tarun Gogoi cabinet, was accused of trying to influence a murder investigation against him by bribing a CBI officer.
