Assam governor Janki Ballav Patnaik has opened the one month long budget session on Thursday. The session will have 15 working days. During the session, the budget is scheduled to be passed on March 28. The crucial Bills would be introduced in between March 1 and 16. Altogether 12 notices have been placed for introduction of bills. These include The Assam Kaziranga University Bill, 2012 and The Assam Venture Sanskrit and Pali Educational Institutions (Provincialisation of Services) Bill. The Irrigation Department has a new bill to be moved—The Assam Ground Water Control and Regulation Bill, 2012. The Administrative Reforms and Training Department also seeks to introduce the fresh bill -- The Assam Right to Public Services Bill, 2012.
Apart from these, six other bills are also set to be placed. Amendments to the existing ones on the provincialisation of the services of the college employees, town and country planning, municipal bodies, value added tax, tax on luxuries and the panchayat institutions.
