Train derailed

The engine alongwith six boggies of the Mariani Intercity Special Passenger Train (UP) got derailed at around 7.30 PM on friday night at Hunatol area in between Sarupatahr and Naojan Railway Station. However no causalities have reported in the incident.

ASEAN-India car rally

The day was 25th November when a contingent of 31 vehicles were flagged off from from the city of Yogyakarta in Indonesia with the objective of forging new opportunities of trade ties among the ASEAN countries. Abducted teacher returns home

Gobind Goswami, the Head Master of No.2 Kowani Paharline LP School who was abducted from his school premise by a group of some unidentified miscreants on 21st November, was able to free from the custody of his abductors on November 22 night. Goswami somehow managed to reach home today evening and has been admitted to Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital. Teacher abducted from school

A lower primary school teacher was abducted by some unknown men from his school in Kowani situated at the remote border area along the border of Golaghat-Karbi Anglong district today. 55-year-old Gobind Goswami, the Head Master of No.2 Kowani Paharline LP School was abducted from his school premise by a group of three armed Adivasi youth at around 1.30 pm. Golaghat AGP burns CM's effigy

The party workers of Asom Gana Parishad’s Golaghat dist. unit today burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to protest alleged deterioration in law and order in the state and failure of the state government to control the fresh violence that had erupted in the BTAD area. Road block in Golaghat demanding OC's arrest

Stillbirth at Golaghat hospital compound
