Violence seems to have marred the 24 hour bandh called by several organizations in protest against the recent Ramphalbeel incident.
Bandh supporters in Rangiya set on fire a Maruti 800 carrying school goers on Monday morning. The driver was beaten up by the supporters. Local residents rescued the school children from the vehicle.

In a major crackdown on terror networks, a special NIA court in Guwahati has convicted Md. Kamruj Zaman, a key accused in a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) terror conspiracy case, and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
