Rocky left red faced

Forest minister Rockybul Hussian has come in for sharp criticism for his failure to ensure safe rescue of the rhino in Kiziranga which died after it was caught in deep mud.

Hundreds of people thronged the National Highway No 37 on Thursday in protest against the failure of the minister to ensure safety and security of the wild animals.

Representing various organizations, the protesters burnt the effigy of forest minister blaming it all on his failure.  

A full grown rhino lost his battle with life 12 hours after he was caught in deep mud in Kaziranga.

The one horn animal was found dead on Thursday wee hours at a pit in Kohora range of the world heritage site.
