AIPSN Assam launches state-level ‘Future of India’ campaign
Statewide initiative will organize science outreach and public awareness programmes on healthcare, education, agriculture, climate change, and constitutional values through May 2027.
GUWAHATI, July 15, 2026 — The Assam unit of the All India People’s Science Network (AIPSN), in collaboration with Ellora Vigyan Mancha, CRU (NER), and Gyan-Vigyan Samiti Assam, launched the state-level phase of the nationwide ‘Future of India’ campaign on July 14.
The campaign, scheduled to run until May 1, 2027, aims to raise awareness on issues including healthcare access, quality education, agricultural challenges, food security, climate change, and sustainable development.
The inaugural programme was presided over by Er. Khanin Talukdar, while Dr. Jili Bordoloi delivered the welcome address. Er. Najib Ahmed, Secretary of AIPSN Assam, outlined the objectives of the campaign. Prof. Tapan Sarma and Dr. Amrit Goswami also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of scientific temper and climate action.
The campaign was formally launched with the release of posters and leaflets. Organisers said seminars, rallies, exhibitions, student competitions, and science fairs will be held across Assam as part of the outreach programme.
People’s science activist Mowsam Hazarika also addressed the event, stressing the importance of the initiative and the need for responsible governance.
