Anglo-Assamese-Nagamese-Singpho version of Miles Bronson Dictionary is released
Assam Jatiyo Prakash, Jorhat has published the Anglo-Assamese-Nagamese-Singpho version of Miles Bronson dictionary at Jorhat. Miles Bronson was a linguist worked with Jaduram Deka and Nathan Brown for Assamese language during 19th century. This dictionary covers 3200 words, 800 from each language and is edited by Debobrata Sarma. Many lessons in Nagamese and Singpho languages are also included in this dictionary.
Miles Bronson came to Assam to work for the American Baptist Missionaries and the helmsman for Assamese language died in 9th November, 1883. His 2000 pages documents were discovered by his grand-daughter Grace Bilad.
On 29 January, the third version of “ Assamese national Dictionary” will be released by professor Bhimkanta Barua, of Dibrugarh University of this publication. Dr. Amorjyoti Chowdhury, the Assistant. Vice-chancellor of Tezpur University will inaugurate the function at Tinsukia district library.
