Assam journo at UNEP Climate Change workshop

Vernacular daily Asomiya Protidin journalist, Chandan Kumar Duarah was one among the participants of the UNEP Workshop held in Kathmandu recently. Titled: “Environment in Asia Pacific: Communicating the Issues” the workshop was held in cooperation with APFED (Asia Pacific Forum for Environment and Development) and ICIMOD (International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development) which aims to increase the capacity of journalists of the Asia Pacific Region to better understand and report on environment issues in the region and ensure not only the coverage of the environment and UNEP’s work in the region but also facilitate dialogues between the media and environment experts of the region. Academicians, journalists and scientists from various countries like China, Bangladesh Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Palau, Singapore, East Timor, Papua New Giunea, Singapore, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan interacted with the UNEP Regional Director Young-Woo Park in Kathmandu on key environmental issues during the workshop.
