CBI arrests Sadananda Gogoi

CBI probing the Saradha scam arrested Sadananda Gogoi to extract more inputs on the multi crore scam. The country’s premier investigation agency arrested Gogoi on Friday to probe Saradha boss Sudipto Sen’s alleged link with political leaders, police officials and businessmen in Guwahati. He was arrested at CBI’s Kolkata office after questioning him for several times in the first week of September. Gogoi is believed be the main linkman between Sen and MLA Himanta Biswa Sarma, former DGP Sankar Baruah. Gogoi confessional statement is expected to help CBI grill political leaders, former police heavyweights and businessmen. Assam Times earlier revealed CBI’s dissatisfaction over the statements of Sadananda Gogoi and businessman Rajesh Bajaj where custodial interrogation was required.
