Delhi set to go to polls today
Delhi is all set to go to the assembly polls on Saturday. Amid tight security and strict vigil polling officials have reached the booths. Votings are set to begin from 8 in the morning.
The election for the 70 seater assembly witnesses a straight contest between Aam Admi Party and BJP. AAP pins hopes on the slew of populist measures of Arvind Kejriwal during his stint as chief minister for a very short spell of time.
“We want water, electricity. The only option left with us is AAP. This time those who voted for Congress in the last assembly polls will vote for AAP to boost our morale,” Debashis Mittal told Assam Times in Karol Bagh constitueny.
Talking to Assam times BJP worker Prasun Dutta said, “ The voters are not so fool to favour Kejriwal who resorted to utter falsehood in the form of poll gimmicks. But his mask slips ultimately. Kejriwal himself is scared of BJP.”
Another BJP worker Rahshid Alom said,” Kejriwal, the chief ministerial candidate has a dubious distinction of an unholy nexus with the terrorist outfits. Delhities wont tolerate him at all.”
Alom led another string of campaign in the capital in the poll run up alleging Kejriwal’s nexus with terrorists. He and his party colleagues have been distributing booklets and leaflets exposing AAP chief ministerial candidate.
Political observers told Assam Times,” if everything is allowed to go hunky dory, AAP will cling to majority. BJP will fall short of seats to form the government of its own while the Congress seats would touch an all time low.”
Much to a major boost for AAP, the exports said that Congress votes would swing to Kejriwal and his party.
