DHAC reacts on media report

Reacting to news item relating to missing of files and the filing of FIR published in a section of media, the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council felt the two cases have been misinterpreted by some section of the press to be related was irrelevant - which the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council termed as deliberate and unfortunate.


This was disclosed by the Principal Secretary, Sri L. Khawbung in a press meet held at the CEM,s Conference Hall today (Friday).


Sri Khawbung clarified that 3 (Three) number of files viz., l).Relating to 50°/ share of Entry Tax of Ma hur Town Committee (2). Relating to 50% Share of Entry Tax of Maibang Town Committee and (3). Release of Rs.1,71,760/ regarding supply of Diary 2011 which were alleged to be missing since 26th November,2011 from the Official Chamber of the Chief Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Haflong has been reconstructed after thorough investigation by its officiating members without any changes or damages to the contents of the files. In a separate and different incident an FIR was filed by the Principal Secretary (T) Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, in connection to the utilization of fund amounting to Rs. 126.675 Lakhs relating to 1st Installment of 12( Finance Commission for the year 2006 — 07.


The FIR in connection to the 12lh Finance Commission has been filed in public interest. It may be mentioned that the release of fund of 13 th Finance Commission has been stalled for non - submission of the Utilization Certificate of the 12th Finance Commission.


The case of the missing files (Now - reconstructed) and the filing of FIR in connection with the 12th Finance Commission was two different and distinct cases and is not in any way related to each other whatsoever, he added.
