Environment Day Celebration at the Assam's first clean and green village- Belona

The student based NGO New Hopes Foundation has always been on the frontline for different activities like blood donation, providing books for economically backward students, providing cloth to the needy or providing relief materials during the flood. Theh have also been vocal about protecting the environment and nature for the future.The organization has also earlier started the Green Birthday Challenge to make awareness about planting trees. And on this World Environment Day 2020, the organization has  distributed as well as planted around 300 plant saplings in the first clean and green village of Assam, Belona.

The prominent environmental activist and Brand Ambassador of Environmental and Forest Department,Govt. of Assam Mr.Ananda Khataniar was present in the program and urged the people to plant and care for the sapling like a child. Mr. Khataniar said,"The villagers of Belona inspires everyone and because of their collective effort,the village has transformed so much.

On this World Environment Day,I request everyone of the village to plant the saplings and take care of them".Lucky Medhi,Himankan Goswami, Mayour Ranjan Barman,Arnab Barman,Subrat Kakati,Sumanjyoti Choudhary,Simanta Medhi, Anjanjyoti Nath were some of the members present in the program and they talked to the young people of the village to make them aware about our environment. Sumanjyoti Choudhury,an active member of NHF said,"We have a vision to raise awareness about our environment and the blood donation which we have been involved in for long in the rural areas and this starts from this unique village Belona "
