Gogoi, Dutta meet Rahul Gandhi

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi and state party president Anjan Dutta met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday amid speculations that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma along with his close associates might quit the party.

Gogoi and Dutta along with Dr P Joshi arrived at the residence of the Congress vice president and discussed the escalating dissidence at the instance by Dr Sarma, Hirany Bora who recently quit the ruling party.

The duo are believed to have submitted a list of a few candidates who are applying for tickets to contest the assembly polls early next year.

Gogoi and Dutta arrived in New Delhi and attended Sonia Gandhi’s iftar party at 10^th Janpath on Monday evening.
