Land allotment probe in Guwahati

 The Assam government on Saturday ordered a probe into the alleged allotment of land in Guwahati Metropolitan area, particularly on wetlands and water bodies.

Official sources told Assam Times  that Gogoi asked Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla to ensure the conduct of the inquiry by Bhaskar Barua.

According to information, the terms of reference of the inquiry would be to identify the officials involved in illegal and arbitrary settlement of land in Guwahati metropolitan area. /
