LS expulsion triggers protest

Assam Congress in rank and file joined the nationwide protest on Tuesday against the suspension of five MPs from Lok Sabha alleging attempt to disrupt the House proceedings.

Hundreds of party leaders and workers thronged the Rajiv Bhawan and shouted slogans against Lok Sabha Speaker for suspending the MPs including Gaurav Gogoi and Sushmita Deb on Monday.

Talking to Assam Times the protestors called it a blatant attempt of the ruling party to keep the democracy at bay.
