Narrow escape for minister

Insurgent outfits seem to have stepped up activities in Karbi Anglong district in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.

Minister Kahrsing Ingty has a narrow escape on Saturday evening when a hand made grenade exploded in Howraghat minutes before he arrived the stop.

The explosion took place at Phubari in the hills district in front of a Congress leader Michale Bey who escaped unhurt.

The grenade is believed to have been planted by KLNLA.
