ULFA denies media reports of its c-in-c's arrest


The United Liberation Front Of Assam (ULFA) on Friday has denied media reports of the arrests of its Commander-in-chief Paresh Barua and the finance secretary Bhaity Barua alias Apurba Barua.


In a press communique issued today, the self-styled lieutenant colonel and the publicity secretary of the banned outfit, Anu Burhagohain clarified that the arrest of ULFA supremo Paresh Baruah was denied by Bangladesh, Home Ministry officials and the ULFA as well. Even Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi denied having any knowledge of this.


"They (Paresh and Bhaity) are safe "-stated the release.


Meanwhile, the ULFA release also clarified that the wife of Apurba Baruah was permitted to go home because of medical attention needed for their daughter.
