ULFA(I) serves quit Assam notices to NHPC, NEEPCO

The United Liberation Front of Asom (I) has served quit Assam notice to NHPC and NEEPCO warning the hydel power giants of dire consequences. 


In a statement issued to media on Monday, the rebel outfit struggling for an independent Assam said the flood waters wreaked no less havoc in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji district when NEEPCO released excess waters from its Ranganadi dam. 


ULFA (I) said same it would take place if NHPC is allowed to proceed and the people would be bearing the brunt. ULFA (I) issued the notice when the Centre and NHPC ate gearing up to resume huge dam at Gerukamukh in the name of Lower Subansiri Hydro power plant. 


Amid the hue and cry over the Deendayal Upadhyay colleges, the rebel outfit further strongly opposed the naming of some educational establishments after some personalities who have little contribution to the state and it's people. They have warned the government not to go ahead with this practice.
