Visit flood-hit areas: CM to MLAs

Talking to reporters in Dispur on Wednesday, Sonowal announces Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the flood victims.

“We don’t have any fund crunch in the time of flood. Moreover, the Centre has assured us of all assistance,” said Sonowal.

He further warned strict action against the erring officials deployed in the flood hit areas. He has already asked the authority to ensure sufficient supply of relief materials and medicines to the marooned people.

On the other hand, the business advisory committee of the Assam legislative assembly on Wednesday unanimously suspended the ongoing budget session till August 7 to facilitate the ministers and MLAs to visit the flood-hit areas where 13 people died and nearly 20 lakh people have been affected.
