A suspected NDFB cadre (Ranjan Daimary faction) was beaten to death by public mob today at Bagargaon under Bijni police station in Chirang when he was coming to take extortion demand money.

Acording to source,NDFB cadre come with a Pulsar bike to take extortion demand money from a Kalamuddin Sheik at Bagargaon village this afternoon around 1.30 pm while villagers gheraoed him and beaten to death.The mob has also set blazed the bike. Sources claimed that the cadre was identified himself as Pranjit Boro while demanded Rs. 5 lakh from a person in a mobile call.

A memorial lecture on Bhaskar Pradip Mahanta was organized by Sanscritic Mahasabha, Assam Kokrajhar district samiti on Sunday in Kokrajhar at Basic Training Centre. Kokrajhar district administration has been seek 65 companies of security forces to conduct the upcoming Assam Assembly election in free and fair for three LACs in the district slated to be held on April 11 next during second phase of the election in Assam. Tribal organisation oppose ST status to six communities
