Science model exhibition in Udalguri
As part of the national scheme for the children to inspire towards science, a District Level Exhibition and Project Competition (DLEPC) was organized at Udalguri HS school auditorium today under the aegis of inspector of schools of Udalguri district circle where a total 53 out of 65 selected students of different secondary schools of Udalguri district participated with enthusiasm. The special initiative was under a national program ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for attraction of talents amongst the students to study science and pursue career with research. The selected young talents are awarded Rs. 5000 each to inspire them to make more innovative science models in the next term of the exhibition. Speaking on the occasion, Sadhana Hojai, Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district appreciated the innovative science models prepared by the students and hoped that their noble intiaitve to know the unknown will surely elevate them to a height in near future. She also appealed to various social and students’ organizations not to use such students of schools in various dharnas, demonstrations for their interest. NC Boro, inspector of schools of Udalguri district circle monitored the whole programme while L. Khiangte, EAC of Udalguri attended the inaugural meet as chief guest. Mrs.Anima Bhuyan of Tangla College, Dr. Rohit Daimari and Mr. Jadavendra Roy of Udalguri College acted as judges of the competition. Mr.Jayanta Kr. Das, coordinator of ASC (ASTEC) anchored the whole program on the occasion.
