Rainwaters continue to wreak havoc in Guwahati with more and more areas of the premier north eastern city coming under the waters on Monday. This has forced the authorities to order shut down of all city schools until further notice. The situation turned worse in the afternoon because of the incessant rains that lashed the city for the last 29 hours. The river Bharalu is swallowing forcing the rainwaters to spill in the GS Road and Zoo Road in the afternoon. Massive waters have resulted in huge traffic snarl on the GS Road and RG Baruah Road apart from many by lanes in the city. A section of schools and colleges, banks and offices, shops and markets have been forced to remain closed because of rainwaters. The government has ordered all schools in the city to remain shut till further notice. Same it is in Dispur where rainwaters have spilled to the government residences of MLAs and ministers. The situation would be turn grave if the incessant rains continue for the next 24 hours. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been kept on standby in the city.
The Supreme Court has made it plain that Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi will hear the foreigners detention centres case. Guwahati: A wild confused wild jumbo wreaked no less havoc among the Guwahati denizens on Tuesday evening forcing the authorities to resort to tranquilizer.
The strayed animal which managed to enter into the city from the nearby hill areas was spotted in the busy GS Road forcing the people to flee.

Guwahati: Finally state Congress has admitted the party's failure to make the Citizenship Bill in the Lok Sabha poll with full forces.
This was what former CM Tarun Gogoi said as he was addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Thursday.
Gogoi said they tried their best but it failed to reach the people in the grassroots level.
