Hornbill fest gets underway

Tucked away a few miles from Kohima, Kisama village is throbbing with the activities of a full fledged festival. Prime minister Narendra Modi opened the much awaited hornbill festival at a colourful show of Naga culture on Monday morning.

Modi in his speech doled out a slew of announcements for the north eastern states saying that the entire region must get adequate focus. Over 2 lakh people are gathering in the historic Nagaland villager to enjoy rich Naga cultural ethos in the seven day long festival.
