Finally the NorthEast United FC have thrashed Chennaiyin FC 2-0 at the end of the 97 thrilling match in the Hero Indian Super League match at the packed Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Tuesday.

A classic goal by Nicolas Valez at 93 minute of the second half fetched no less strength for the resurgent home team. Before that the team got vital strength from a penalty kick scored by Simao Sabrosa in 91 minute of the second. Yet another goal eluded for the home team because of a brilliant save by the guest goal keeper.

Another striking feature of the high voltage match was 10 yellow cards along with 1 red card, 2 penalties.

The home team defeated the Chennai team in full of their owner super bpllywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan.

Much to a major boost for the NorthEast United FC, the home team replaced injured Miguel Garcia by Cameroon defender Andre Bikey.
