Breakage at the Subansiri Dam

The cofferdam of the 2000 MW Subansiri Hydropower Project has breakage at around 11.30 AM this morning. Due to this, water level at the Subansiri riverbed has suddenly risen up and washed away several huts located at the bank of the river. Minor rape bid foiled in Nalbari; carpenter held

A 32 year person was injured when he was arrested by police accusing him of trying to rape a minor girl at Chamata in Nalbari district on Friday. The arrested carpenter was caught red handed while he was trying to rape with the a five year old girl. A clash between the local people and police broke out when police arrived at the place to arrest the culprit. Later he was rushed to a nearby hospital.

In yet another staggering blow, Army has killed three more top ranked ULFA cadres at an encounter on Tuesday night in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district. Opposition parties taking out procession in the city
