Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has urged the public sector banks to help the state develop on all front keeping in mind the social development.
In his address at the Special State Level Bankers' Committee meeting on Tuesday night, Gogoi said that the nationalised banks should increase the credit-deposit ratio in the state.
Gogoi pointed out that the credit-deposit ratio of the banks in Assam is much lower than the national average.
He further urged the lenders to simplify the process of granting loans.
