Rumi Nath’s arrest seems imminent when the Guwahati High Court refused anticipatory bail plea for the Karimganj MLA on Friday in connection with a case of car lifting where her estrange husband and escort have been arrested.

A division bench of the court on Friday turned down her anticipatory bail plea she moved two days back. Jacky Zarir, her estrange is already in police custody along with a PSO for their alleged nexus with international car lifer Anil Chauhan.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi criticized the Narendra Modi government on Thursday for failing to enlist the state in the list of proposed six new IIMs.In a statement, Gogoi accused the Centre of paying only lip services to the state. Finally, Akhil Gogoi, Kamal Medhi procured bail along with four other KMSS leaders on Thursday.A bench of the Gauhati High Court comprising PK Phukan granted bail to the six KMSS leaders after examining the police case diary submitted before the court earlier.Police arrested them acting on a complaint filed by APSC alleging that they were trying to disrupting the functionings in the name of staging dharna in protest against anomalies in the Civil service examinations.
