 The new executive council to the BTAD under BPF party would take oath of office and secrecy on April 19 at a glittering ceremony at Bodofa Nwgwr, near BTC secretariat in Kokrajhar. 

 All together 14 executive members including Chief, Deputy Chief are taking oath of office and secrecy who were elected to the council that election held on April 8, a sources said.

The BPF is leading the council for third consecutive terms on support of two independent councilors elected from Baksa district,sources added.

A massive preparation has got under way to hold the ceremonial function in Kokrajhar and security has also beefed up in the region.

BPF leaves three more seats to BJP

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party. Motor vehicle association warns for non-cooperation in election

The owner and members of the Motor Vehicles in Kokrajhar has warned to take non-cooperation during ensuing Assam assembly election in protest against non-payment of 32 crores of hire charge bills and previous bills of vehicles, which are pending for a long time in the district. The Election Observer for Expenditure for 31-Sidli (ST) LAC Jaginder Singh, IRS on Tuesday arrived at Kajalgaon in Chirang district.
