Gamlin joins as Delhi chief secy

Despite stiff resistance from Arvind Kejriwal and his lobby senior IAS officer from Assam Shakuntala Gamlin took over as Delhi chief secretery. 

Shakuntala, the daughter of former minister Lalit Doley and wife of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin has alleged intimidation by a section of bureacrates not to take over. 

He was Lt Governor Jung who appointed her in the top post defying the chief minister's opposition who calls her corrupt.

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council declared the results of the HS arts, science and commerce  examination on Friday. Altogether 23, 420 candidates cleared the examination out of 27,969 candidates in the science stream. The percentage of successful candidates stands at 85.33%. In the arts stream 1,50,421 out of 2,3,513 candidates emerged successful. The percentage of successful candidates is 73.91%. In the commerce stream, out of 16,420 candidates candidate 13, 564 have cleared the examination. The percentage of successful candidates is 82.70%.  
A seven member delegation of ministers and MLAs is leaving for New Delhi on Friday to urge the party high command to retain Tarun Gogoi as chief minister. Comprising Rockybul Hussain, Pradyut Boroloi, Anjan Dutta, Sushanta Borgohain, the delegation is set to meet Dr CP Joshi, Motilal Vhora and Dr Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday and Saturday. Two days after listenng to the dissident camp, the three member panel set up to deal with the issue has summoned  the pro-Gogoi camp to be listened to.
Unidentified gunmen shot deada former insurgent leader in Karbi Anglong district on Thursday forcing security forces to intensify operation to nab the miscreants. The incident took place on Thursday night at Boithalangsu in the hills district. Accordng to an eyewitness, the motorcycle born gunmen halted near a shop where UPDS deputy C-In-C Rupsingh Teron who was sitting. Then they started firing at Teron from a point bank range and left the spot. Teron was killed on the spot. Later policeman came and sent Teron’s body to his residence which is situated at a stone’s throw distance from the spot. Investigation is going on. Security forces are fanning in Bokajan area in Karbi Anglong district in search of 4 truckers 24 hours after they were kidnapped at gunpoint. Top ranked police officials have been camping in Bojajan to monitor the rescue operation. Police have picked up three local youths in this connection. Interrogation is going on. But sources have denied any role of militant outfits in the case where four Imphal bound truckers were taken away by a group of 4 miscreants from a petrol punp on Thursday wee hours. After Sarbananda Sonowal, yet another top AASU leader is set to join BJP. He is none other than Tapan Kumar Gogoi who is preparing to join the saffron party very soon. The AASU general secretary, who hails from Sivasagar district is keen to contest from Sivasagar in the 2016 assembly polls. According to information, Gogoi has already received green signal from BJP president and Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal whom he helped in the recent Lok Sabha polls in Lakhimpur. The AASU leader is not available for comment.
Advocate General Amrit Phukan has put in his papers on Thursday. According to sources, the senior lawyer has sent his resignation letter to the authority which was accepted fortwith. The government has confirmed that the resignation paper was accepted. The new advocate general would take over on Friday or Saturday./
The stage is set. Assam Higher Secondary Education Council is all set to announce the results of the HS examination on Friday. The results would also be available on the net at 10 in the morning. Over 2,60,000 candidates appeared in the examination conducted in February this year.   
Security forces claimed to have killed a hardcore NDFB-S militant at an encounter in Udaguri district on Thursday. The encunter took place in the wee hours at Khoirabari area where the Bodo militant was attending a party. Acting on a tip off Udalguri police and army jawans launched an combing operation in the area were the encounter erupted. Identified as Bashiram Boro, the militant was critically injured in the 30 minute long gunfight. He was rushed to the hospital to be declared brought dead. The incident took place hours after local villagers at Ghiladhari in Sonitpur district lynched two NDFB-S militants when they arrived in the village to extort money. 
Two NDFB(S) militants were lynched by villagers in Sonitpur district on Wednesday.The incident took place at Ghiladhari in the evening where the three Bodo militants arrived in the village to extort money. Villagers in lage number came out to the street and tried to capture the duo. When they tried to escape from the spot the villagers overpowered them to be lynched on the spot. Policemen arrived in the spot and recovered the bodies. NDFB(S) militants have been unlashing terror in the entire area in the form of killing, kidnapping and extortion forcing the local residents to mercilessly deal with it.   
As many as 22 dissident MLAs called on senior AICC leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and Dr CP Joshi seperately in New Delhi on Wednesday where the recent Lok Sabha polls dominated the discussion. Led by former minister Abdul Muhib Mazuddar, the dissidents have told media that they have not blamed it all on the leadership for the debacle. But they were beleived to have expressed quite dissatisfaction over Tarun Gogoi as chief minister.
