India has only Dhoni featuring in top ten in ODI rankings

Dubai: For a country which idolizes its cricketers the latest ODI rankings are a rude eye opener. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only India to feature anywhere in the top 10 list. Dhoni has been ranked fifth among all batsmen in the world while Captain Rahul Dravid is a distant second in the 15th spot in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings released here. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly are nowhere in the list.Australian captain Ricky Ponting is the No.1 batsman and is just one point short of the 800-mark. Shaun Pollock of South Africa has the distinction of being the top bowler as well as the top all rounder. A fake financial institute has once again duped lakhs of customers during the last two year. The institution in question is Jivan Surakhya Group. It’s a narrow escape from a powerful explosion in Barpeta Road. Police recovered a powerful bomb from a train track in Barpeta Road railway station on Wednesday.Weighing 800 gm, the explosive was planted with electrical wires, was hidden under boulders of track number one on platform two.After noticing it, a local resident informed the police who later defused the bomb at around 9.30 in the morning. Good news for government employees. Dispur has raised the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for its employees and pensioners from 65 to 72 per cent. The revision is effective from July 1.Following the increase, the DA will be at par with Central Government employees. The arrear will be paid in cash and an additional expenditure of Rs 400 crore will be incurred by the Government during the current financial year.
Atleast three children were feared to have met watery grave after two boats collided in the river Brahmaputra in Barpeta district on Tuesday.The incident took place on Monday midnight when a country-made boat collided with another boat in the Brahmaputra river at the remote Pub Aandabhanga-Saldiyapara area of Chenga. Over 50 passengers travelling in the two boats were rescued or were able to swim ashore, three kids are missing. They were identified as Sanidul Hoque, Kamal Badshah, Phulbahatan Nesa.
