IITian found dead

A B Tech student is believed to have committed suicide in the morning leaving the Guwahati IIT in utter shocked on Friday.
Identified as Ujjal Salil, the body of student from Bihar was found at the campus early in the morning. The inmate of the Brahmaputra Hostel was suspected to have jumped to the ground.

Police recovered the body and investigation is going on. This is the third such tragic incident at the country’s premier seat of science and technology in Guwahati during the last 12 months.

Last year in the same month i.e. on 14/09/2014 our son Tushar Yadav was also found dead behind his room in Kameng Hostel, before we reached there from Delhi IIT Guwahati declared it as suicide. Same thing happened in today"s case.  After our strong oppose case of conspiracy and murder was registered since then Police and IIT Guwahatidid nothing at yet, we at our level providing evidences, activities of suspects but all in vain. You the media also continuously describing as suicide why? On that day you the media failed to did your duty to find out facts then wrote such thing. If you did that in so hurry then why not you published the story of conspiracy and murder. This IIT has continue taking life of young engineers no media no ngo no political system no UGC no NHRC no Court take notice of it. We the grieved parents of Tushar can understand the loss that the family of Ujjal Shailabh have to bear through whole life, what else we can say   Narender Singh ( Gurgaon)

Good news for cancer patients. Chabua to get a state-of –the- art cancer hospital. This was what chief minister Tarun Gogoi disclosed as he was addressing a press conference in Dispur on SaturdayGogoi said that the hospital would be a giant leap towards giving a relief to the cancer patients whose number has been on the rise. The Central Bureau of Investigation is likely to move the Supreme Court a day after Gauhati questioned its validity under the Delhi Police Act, 1963. According to sources, the Centre is weighing options to approach the apex court challenging the Gauhati High Court order. The verdict was passed after the court took up a plea against CBI in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy where the investigation agency chargesheet a BSNL officer in a cheating case to be quashed by the court. Many legal experts across the country called the verdict a shocking.
Bollywood actor-director Amir Khan in on a 5 days personal visit to Assam. Accompanied by his family members, the Loogan director landed at the Salonibari airport at 1 pm on Wednesday and straightly left for the Circuit House where is lodging. On Thursday he celebrated his wife's birthday. Sources told assamtimes that Amir Khan would visit the Kaziranga National park along with some place of interest.
Four persons were killed when a vehicle carrying them to Guwahati collided its head on a scorpio vehicle on its way to Dhemaji on Thusday. The head-on-collision took place in the wee hour on the National Highway 52 at Kocharigaon. Four person on the Guwahati-bound Alto car died on the spot while those inside the Scorpio vehicle were injured to be sent to the hospital.
Yet another alleged incident of gangrape struck Guwahati. The main accused is in police custody. The incident took place at Maligaon where three youths allegedly gangraped and assaulted a 20 year old girl under the flyover at 11 at night. Local residents rescued the girl and caught the main accused who was handed over to the police. But the two others managed to flee from the spot. Later the girl was rushed to the Guwahati Medical College. Apart from interrogating the accused, police are waiting for the medical report to confirm it a case of gangrape.
Two back to back earthquakes struck Assam on Wednesday leaving 2 dead in Golaghat besides demolishing several school buildings in the district.            The earthquake measuring 5.5 in the Rickhter scale originated at Borpothar along Golaghat-Karbi Anglong district border at 9.48 in the morning.           Two persons died in Golaghat district as they were trying to run out of ther homes when the quake started shaking.  Apart from this, cracks surfaced in several buildings housing schools. Atleast 5 students injured in Mohurmukh school when a wall collapsed on them during the earthquake. They were rushed to the hospital...
Properties worth one crore reduced to ashes when a Guwahati-based bar caught fire on Tuesday.           The incident took place at the Midtown Bar Christian Basti probably because of electrical short circuit at 5.30 in the evening.   Fire tenders reached the spot in time but it had to fight for almost 3 hours to bring the situation under control.           Investigation is going on.
Guwahati Book Fair gets underway on Tuesday.           Assam governor JB Patnaik open the 10 days book festival at the main venue in Chandmari.       Patnaik in his address said that the event would help the state and its people strike a permanent deal with the book culture.     Patnaik further gave away Assam Publication Board-sponsored award to noted educationist Dr Amalendu Guha.
Dr Bhupen Hazarika's multi faceted personality and his outstandina contribution came up for a touching discourse as Assam observed the second death anniversary across the state on Tuesday.           Thousands of people thronged the Gauhati University campus to pay tribute to Dr Hazarika where the legendary music maestro was cremated 2 years back.     Cultural troupes performed Bhupendra sangeet apart from religious functions organised by the goverment. Local residents in Nijorapar observed the death anniversary with a day cultural function.           Aasu lit up 10000 earthen lamps in Dighalipukhuri in the evening.
